1 Overview

Good Looking Question LLC ("GLQ," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Good Looking Question mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your information.

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Our core commitment: We never sell your personal data to third parties. Demographic information you provide is used only in aggregate to generate insights — your individual responses are never identified or shared.

2 Data We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information you choose to add to your profile over time.

Account information

  • Email address (required for email-based sign-up)
  • Authentication tokens from Google or Apple if you use social sign-in
  • Username (chosen by you)
  • Timezone (detected from your device to manage streak logic)

Profile & demographic information (voluntary)

To power our crosstab insights, we ask you to optionally share demographic information. All fields except country are optional and can be skipped at any time:

Poll responses

  • Your answers to poll questions, including timestamp and which poll mode you used (daily, weekly, or explore)
  • A snapshot of your demographic profile at the time of each response (so results remain accurate even if you update your profile later)

Usage & device information

  • Platform (iOS or Android) and app version
  • Gamification data: XP balance, streak count, badges earned
  • Basic analytics: screens visited, features used (no keystroke or behavioral tracking beyond this)

3 How We Use Your Data

  • To operate the App — authenticating your account, delivering poll questions, recording your responses, and maintaining your streak and XP.
  • To generate insights — combining your responses with your demographic profile to produce aggregated breakdowns (e.g., "how ages 25–34 responded"). Your individual response is never surfaced in these breakdowns.
  • To power gamification — calculating your streak, awarding XP and badges, and populating the leaderboard with your username and weekly XP total.
  • To send notifications — reminders to answer the daily question, streak alerts, and badge notifications. You can opt out of notifications at any time in your device settings.
  • To improve the App — understanding which features are used, identifying bugs, and informing future development.
  • To moderate user-submitted content — if you submit a poll question, we review it and may contact you about it using your account email.

4 Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — We use Supabase (database and authentication infrastructure) to store and process data on our behalf. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
  • B2B customers — Organizations that license GLQ's insights receive aggregated, anonymized crosstab data only. They never receive individual response records or personally identifiable information. Individual breakdowns are suppressed when a demographic group has fewer than 10 respondents.
  • Leaderboard — Your username and weekly XP total are visible to other users on the in-app leaderboard. You may change your username at any time.
  • Legal requirements — We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority.
  • Business transfers — If GLQ is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5 Aggregation & Anonymization

The core value of GLQ is showing you how different groups of people respond to the same question. To protect your privacy while enabling these insights:

  • All results shown in the App and provided to B2B customers are aggregated — they show counts and percentages for groups, never individual answers.
  • Any demographic breakdown with fewer than 10 respondents is suppressed and not shown to anyone.
  • Your individual response is never displayed in a way that could identify you.
  • If you delete your account, your responses are anonymized — the demographic snapshot and response value are retained for historical accuracy of aggregated data, but all links to your identity are removed within 30 days.

6 Data Retention

  • Account data — retained while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion, after which it is permanently removed.
  • Poll responses — retained indefinitely in anonymized aggregate form. The link between your identity and your responses is removed within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Demographic profile — deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Authentication tokens — managed by your sign-in provider (Google or Apple) per their respective retention policies.

7 Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — update or correct inaccurate information via the Profile section of the App.
  • Deletion — delete your account and associated personal data at any time via Settings → Delete Account.
  • Opt-out of notifications — disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.
  • Data portability — request an export of your response history in a machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent — you may withdraw consent for optional demographic data at any time by removing fields from your profile.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address in Section 11.

8 Children's Privacy

Good Looking Question is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use the App with parental consent. By using the App, users under 18 represent that they have obtained the required parental or guardian consent.

9 Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include:

  • All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using TLS.
  • Data at rest is encrypted in our database infrastructure (Supabase).
  • Row-level security policies ensure that users can only access their own data.
  • Administrative access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

10 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before the change takes effect.

Your continued use of the App after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
